True OriGINs festival not only celebrates the very best of Scottish gin, but will also be showcasing classic Scottish produce at its various street food stalls. Here is just some of its offerings…

Cullen Skink arancini with black garlic aioli
Cullen Skink originates from the North East town of Cullen. A thick, creamy filling soup made with smoked haddock, (or Finnian haddie), and potato, it was a traditional meal created for Scottish fisherman who required filling meals that were tasty and kept them warm. Scottish venison sausages, with arran mustard mash
Quality, rich sausages made with the finest venison. A classic pairing of mashed potatoes with a kick of mustard make this a quality piece of eating. Learn all about Scottish venison and the many recipes you can enjoy.

Irn Bru chicken with radish, sage and turnip slaw
This is definitely one to taste! Scotland is the only country in the world where Coca Cola isn’t the number one soft drink. Have a guess at what the top one is….Iru Bru is simple a great drink and superb in this recipe.

Said to be Scotland’s oldest cheese, caboc is a rich double cream cheese, which is allowed to age naturally without the addition of rennet. Rich and creamy in taste, this dish is powerful – and mighty braw!)

Forfar Bridie
Similar to the Cornish pasty, (but better, obvs!) this pie is said to have been created by a Forfar baker in the 1850s and was often seen at weddings. 

Black haggis bon-bons with whisky chilli ketchup
If you are one of those who has never tried haggis, make sure to give this dish a go. It’s very likely you will enjoy it! Go on, we dare you!

Battered Mars bar
Oh, come on! Of course this was going to be on the menu! Don’t knock it until you have tried it. This is a classic in Scotland for a reason. Check out the a video from the University of Glasgow, looks like they enjoyed it.
