3 fun gin smoothies that will help you get through
Oh we feel your pain, it's January, it's been a long month and you promised yourself that you would be healthy and hold tight of drinking to much of your favourite drinks.
We do understand, but, there are some new year resolutions that we think can be flexed a bit, especially if the greater part of what we suggest is still healthy, well fruit based healthy that is.
So here we go, 3 fun gin smoothies to have a go with.
CUCUMBER MINT GIN SMOOTHIE
Super easy to make, and superb tasty.
(Makes 3 drinks)
- 165ml gin 150g cucumber
- Diced 2 tablespoons sugar
- 60ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 12 mint leaves
- cucumber slices, to garnish
- mint leaves, to garnish
- sparkling water
- Ice
Method: Drop the lot in a blender...well maybe a bit more planned than that hey! In a blender, combine diced cucumber, 12 mint leaves, sugar and lemon juice. Puree until smooth, have a smell, it smells totally awesome. With glasses filled with ice, add 55ml Still Rivers UnCut gin to each glass and cucumber slices. Fill glasses with the cucumber mixture until about 2/3 full. Top with sparkling water and stir. Garnish with fresh mint and serve.
STRAWBERRY GIN SMOOTHIE
Now, this one is brilliant, were fans of anything that has strawberries in, and you can do this with frozen strawberries that have a much better flavour.
(Makes 1 drink)
- 30ml EeNoo gin
- 80g strawberries
- Frozen 1/2 lime Juiced
- 200ml light tonic water
- A few more frozen strawberries, to garnish
- Ice, Ice baby
Method: Grab the blender, combine gin, frozen strawberries and lime and puree until smooth, remember with smoothies you can go smooth or really smooth, just a matter of blending time, but make this ultra smooth. In a glass, add ice cubes and some frozen strawberries. Pour in mixture slowly, leaving room. Top with tonic water and serve.
RASPBERRY GIN Smoothie
An adult party drink, a post work out drink (shopping that is), its fabulous.
(Makes 6 drinks)
- 140g ice
- 120-180ml sparkling water
- 120ml Esker gin
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 60ml lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 280g raspberries, frozen lime slices, to garnish
Method: In a blender, combine ice, sparkling water, gin, sugar, lime juice and raspberries and puree until smooth. Garnish with lime slices and serve.
